Hi, I'm Deor with column Der Podcast. I'm passing by to say hi because I saw that you posted something up there, so I wanted to say hi all with some Alan Tom Pennsylvania. What's going on, guys? Welcome back to Pod flicks and chill. As always, I am your host, Andrew, and that message was actually left by fellow podcaster do or of the call on door podcast. She used the voice message feature on Pod Flix and chillcom to stop by and say hello. So you guys can head right on over to the website, either on your computer or on your smartphone, tap the microphone button and record a message, either saying hi, letting me know what episode topics you'd like to hear me cover in future episodes, or let me know what you're streaming and you might get featured on the next episode of the PODCAST. Also wanted to let you guys know that Pod flicks and chill is now a part of the pod fix network. Pod Fix network is a group of about twenty or so different podcasters that help promote each other and help support and row each other's shows. There's a lot of great podcasts going on with the network and Pod flicks and chill is happy to join that community. On this episode of Pod flicks and Chill I talked with fellow Podcaster Joe Gillant of the glance game friends podcast, and we talked about how he's background in comedy and radio has sort of led him to doing podcasts. We talk a lot about our shared interest in the mcu and Wand Division. Specifically, caution you that this episode does contain spoilers for this most recent episode of Wan Division. So if you haven't seen it, pause the PODCAST, go check that episode of one division out and then come back and listen to the rest of the show. Anyway, be sure to subscribe to pod flicts and chill. Wherever it is you listen or watch, make sure you follow us on social media at Pod flicks, the letter end and chill and enjoy this episode with Joe Galant of the Glansky and friends podcast. All right, guys, welcome back to Pod flicts and chill, and I am here with Joe Galant. How are you, my friend? I'm doing good buddy. Thanks for having me, no problem at all. Joe And I met during a facebook group for podcasters. Joe has his own podcast called Klansky and friends, and he's also a really big comic book nerd. So I wanted to talk sort of all of that stuff. You know, we've been talking back and forth about Wand Division and how great that show is, especially with this past week's episode. But before we dive into that, I'm going to keep the listeners on a leash here and I want to drag them ont of bit. So tell me a bit more about your podcast, because I see your background, which is great logo, by the way. I absolute thank you it. But the podcast just isn't about superhero stuff and Geek stuff. It's about just random conversations with people that you've met. So to tell me about it. Yeah, so I used to do. I have a background and entertainment. Originally, I've this is my entertainment for a now. I'll be thirty nine in March, and so pretty much since the age of nineteen I went to school in up here. I'm from Toronto, Canada, which is north of Toronto Canada. Okay, and there's this there's a collage here and as far as I know, as of to this day, it there. They have the only course of its kind. It's now it's a fuse of business and entered and like like a like an arts program. Okay, and what it is? It's the Humber School of Comedy, writing and performance. They take ten percent of applicants. I don't know how many aplicants getting now mad it's been, you know, twenty years since I've been in college. But I beat out over six hundred people in an audition process to get a spot in that program. So there were about ninety kids in the entire program. I get kids when we're all obviously there were some adults are with various ages, but there was ninety people in that program and a little over about nine hundred auditioned, okay, for four spots in the program and I...

...was very fortunate to get in. And so through that I always wanted to do something entertainment wise. I'm M I loved acting. I love later in life now I've kind of got I like the production value, like the production side of things and being behind the camera and scripting and you know, and my ultimate dream, well going to college, was to get into radio. Deo was my original, you know, goal to get into and so I started doing stand up comedy and I started doing auditions and I've been in a few stupid TV shows that have made it to air. So the best one, I'd say, is the one I got the most recognition for. If anyone I don't know in America, but up here in candidates. On Amazon Prime. It's called urban legends and it's it's a show where they show like three fake not three things, right, they show three stories about urban legends. Two of them are fake, one of them is real. So the episode I'm in, these guys streak through a restaurant and then while they're in their naked and their closer in the car and still running and their buddies filming it. HMM, somebody steals the car. Nice, right. So the only thing that I did that still is out there right now is my large but running through restaurants naked and the tetive. You have Amazon prime. I gotta check it's in the states, but it's season one episode for no excuse for Stupidity, okay, but it's definitely check that out. And then, coming up to around two thousand and six, I was fortunate enough to land a Gig on kind of precursor to podcasting and kind of the next step in radio and video was I did an Internet radio show for that RADIOCOM. They're still around, they now. They're there that channel and they've turned it almost like an Internet TV station, and I did a rude, crude we played music, but like kind of comedy program and from that we had the recordings and we were going to start podcasting. And then after that was done, me and my comedy partner at the time, Mitch, who was doing the show with me, we're going to do it. Due to a technical error at the station, we lost all of the recordings. Oh No, I have one of them still today. Now go back and listen to it, I'm like God, we didn't put that out. It's it's not great. So we've always had the dream to do it. Then my buddy Mitch went off to Finland. He works in the video game industry and he started working for angry birds. Wow. So let's just say his life got away way more busy and way more important to try and sit down and do a podcast. As well as the time zone difference, technology, etc. Etc. Now move around through Europe. He's currently in London. So fingers crossed one day will eventually have our show back and we'll do all that stuff. But but for me, I made a decision in two thousand and seven to move back home out of Toronto, to the small town of Allaston, Ontario, which is known for the Honda Factory and potatoes. So it's a very it's not a huge town, but if you drive a civic, if you drive a four door civic and North America, it was built in my hometown. I actually am looking out the window at my Honda civic four door right now. Swear to God, that was independent. What year was it? Two Thousand and eleven. Two Thousand and eleven. Okay, I could probably introduce you to the guys who probably put the doors on it. You know what I mean. Like this. So there is we we build. We build the civic for North America, part of Europe. So that's the most notable thing about my town until I become famous and then I become the most notable thing about this town, right right, love it. So anyways, I moved home. I made the decision to put entertainment on the back burner, move home, marry the girl that I was seeing at the time still married. We have now have two children. Awesome, and through life and having to work actual jobs, not just making funny you know, and get pay in the bills. I always want to do the podcast, but obviously in the mid two thousands technology wasn't necessarily that accessible right for people on us on a budget, and the Internet was just getting kind of really grinding, like...

...it's it's steps into becoming what it is today. Now people think like well, MIT, you thousands know it was. Don't get me wrong, it was not the Internet of the ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety seven, right, but I was using but youtube was just becoming very popular. Yeah, and so that was one of the platforms that we were going to start to do the show on. was recorded video and audio, and then I had my own separate channel that I was going to start doing comedy stuff on and all that stuff. flashforward. Obviously all that goes to the back burner. I've tried a few times to get the podcast off the ground. Personally, I know people listening out there going to some people might actually get this is I also am a huge procrastinator. So you know, the whole I'll do it later aspect mixed with I am my own we're critic and I always and sucks because part of me is always like get out there and make everybody laugh, get on stage, but there's that piece in your head you're like, but you're not funny, you're not talented, don't do this, you're going to fail. You're going to fail, you're going to fail. It's it's the struggle between, you know, battling depression, anxiety, things like that, and this podcast that I am doing, obviously is to fuel the entertainment side of me, that I love entertaining and be funny, but it also fuels keeping the depression and things like that as an outlet to help get it out there and to deal with mental issues and things like that, and I don't talk about that unless my guest is into that stuff. That's just personal and I'm open. I'm an open book about it. Right, you need it, you need an outlet, especially in these days with covid so flash WOORD. Again I've I was lucky enough that my small town ended up with a radio station and I got a job as the morning show host, also right based on just my comedy background and the fact that I'd be willing to get paid like almost minimum wage to work. So unfortunately, in a year the owner of that station ran it into the ground by improper advertising and whole bunch of other stuff so that we got locked out and I lost that job. So at that point too, I started looking into well, I can record from the station in do a podcast, and I was I had the keys and full range to do whatever I wanted to in the studio after hours. So yeah, you know, and if the podcast itself drived with the station, the owner would air it. But again through new time and obviously getting locked out of the station in a year it never got off the ground. Okay. So then coming up to Covid, I got laid off from my job for six weeks. Now. The Canadian government was very generous to Canadians that had to be laid off. So I know in the states the it's not necessarily, you know, on par with what happened, but our Canadian government made sure that all Canadians that were affected by COVID and had to lose their jobs got two thousand dollars a month to at least cover their bills. That's awesome. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to be paying taxes and whatnot on that back, but I'd rather pay, you know, twenty five percent back if it had to. It really helped me through the time. But the thing was I wasn't driving to work and I drive an older sue brew. It's like all wheel drive. It's, you know, so six cylinder. She's not the greatest on gas. So I spent about three hundreds in gas a month. So I was able to save the three hundred a month and put it into my recording equipment and slowly build the sitting in a literally a moving blanket booth, like moving blankets that are built into like a local booth. And from that it was just being cooped up and, you know, the dark thoughts are like hey, man, we this is time for week, come out to play, because now he's not getting any sunshine and he's hanging around and he's constantly stuck in the house with his wife and kids, which normally is amazing, but you just get sick of other, you know what I mean, sick of the people that you have to see costly and you're not able to go out and really do stuff. So I said screw it and started the podcast. Now, I that was...

...march last year. Halloween of last year was my first episode and it took me that long because, again, procrastination too. I wanted to sound good out of the gate. I wanted to get things in place and I had to take I took baby steps. I really did a lot of preproduction stuff as if it was a TV show or movie, which you can appreciate on this podcast. And so it said. The artwork that you can see behind me on your screen, and if anybody goes to the gland sky and friends, gland sky and Friendscom you can see it there. Or spotify, if you find my podcast, you'll see the artwork. It is literally the one thousand, nine hundred and seventy super friends, yeah, but reskinned to be me, a superman, and generic other people as the friends, as my guests. Right, I had the idea. I reached out to an artist, the Great Giraldo. That's the Great Jeraldo with the GGAR Ald? Oh, he's on Instagram, facebook. I found him at an comic con here Toronto. I bought some of his prints and took his card and then, three years later, I messaged him and said, Hey, man, I have this idea. I think you'd be the best artist to do it. Can I commission you to do it? And he said sure, here's the price. It wasn't inexpensive, but it wasn't ridiculous. Sure, and I always have the the outlook to invest in yourself. If you're going to do something like podcasting, come out of pocket two hundred bucks. Just don't buy fast food for a couple months. You know what I mean, and it's going to make a world a difference to you in your hobby if you can invest in yourself a little bit. So and then my music, my intro music, is actually done by I paid for that as well. That's one of my biggest feedbacks is, man, your intro music is amazing. Thank you. Mikey Bingo Beats. He's my cousin, so it's really nice and he he does amazing stuff. He's works some with hiphop artists, he's done some stuff for the UFC, he's done all sorts of things. So Check Mikey Bingo beats out at on Instagram as well and he did my intro music and so I had one thing in mind and then he had head his hip hop beats and so the fews of them together and it comes out sounding very much like a Nolan movie style Batman, and I gave him the voiceover for it and all came together and, be honest, I was. I'm a lot happier with where I started from by taking those little steps, yeah, to get where I am today. And Yeah, just want to keep growing and keep going. That's awesome. Yeah, and you've had like a wide range of guests, as I kind of like touched on. I mean we we connected over your episode with the Yoda Guy, which I think absolutely incredible, but I've also started checking out some of your other episodes. You had like a like a satanic worshipper and like some mental health people of theirs. Yeah, like how does how does all that figure? Like, where do you find these people? With my entertainment background, I also know that you need a hook, you need people to be interested. I ran listener run, I run my guests kind of like you'd run a stand up night. You want one of your strongest people up front to really draw people in. And I thought I love Halloween. I had just seen the documentary hall Satan on Netflix, okay, which is a really cool documentary. If you don't know about the Modern Day satanist. I recommend two things. Checking Out Hall Satan Documentary on Netflix. Not I'm not a satanist. I'm not promoting any religion. It's just I love learning about religions and it's really it's an eye opener for people who don't really you know, who don't know when they assume. Yeah. Secondly, listen to my first episode. Okay. I talked to Nicholas Mark. He's the head of the Satanic Temple of Ottawa up here in Canada, which is one of the branches from the Satanic Temple Down in Salem, okay, and it was a real eye opening episode. We didn't talk about sacrificing goats or virgins or burning upside down crosses. They're really strong in the community and a lot of their values and things that they hold true are pretty again, eye opening. Just definitely check out those two things.

But if you can only do one, check out my episode. I Love I love the flug. So my idea is originally I've done Radio Yoh, and I've talked to a microphone by myself. It's fine and little tidbits, but I absolutely like feedback and so even if there's just one other person sitting on the table across from me, they could tell if a joke lands, at least for them. I can tell. It just feels more natural and it's fun to talk about different things and that way I cast a very wide net, but they're all within one say fandom, but all within my interest. Anyone I find interesting, especially something I find interesting, I try and draw to the PODCAST. So I was very fortunate to reach out to Nick Malley, the guy who built the original three Yoda puppets around the animatronics. You didn't do the animatronics right, but he built the original three Yoda pupets and figured out how to make Yoda walk on screen and stuff, and he was like yeah, man, I can do it. How about this Thursday? I'm like Holy Moldy, okay. So I've reached out to a lot of my connections because I went to school for comedy. I have a lot of comedic friends. I have a few STANDUP comedians. One of my friends that is a standup comedy where I was a standup comedian, he's now in the world of Bitcoin. So I do one all on Bitcoin. There's some fun laughs in it, but we really learn about bitcoin. And then his wife is someone from college as well and we talked about her podcast. It's about her health and and how really bad it is. I talked to Youtube Stars. I got a bunch of people lined up my episode coming out, my thirteen episode. I speak to. Her name is Canadian Comic Cutie. She's a big cosplayer like she does some amazing stuff on her instant Graham, but she hasn't only fans account. So we going to talk about what she does on only fans. Not ridiculously graphic, but right. It's all interesting. So yeah, I'm and you'll be a guest on my podcast coming up as well, to Andrew. So look far to that. We'll probably talk about your podcast one who you are and of course will probably just find something to talk about nerdwise. So most likely who is so in along and along? Answer there for you is if I find them interesting, I try and get him in to be on the podcast and then keeps me interested to keep coming back to talk to people as well. And you're not beating the same drum right. So yeah, yeah, and that's a it's really cool concept and it's one that I think is growing too. Now. I just joined the podcast community as well. Drop my first episode back in November of two thousand and twenty, and, unlike your story, it was it was less about like me keep putting it off. It was just kind of like I had watched the Queen's Gambit on Netflix and I was like man, I really want to talk about this show with someone, but nobody on facebook is posting about it one because I literally watched it like a week after it came out and to my fiance, absolutely hates TV. I don't want to say hates, but she like she can't sit through a full episode of anything. I mean it was tough to get her through the MANDALORIAN. She brought up loving it once she finally watched it, but it's like just the act of okay, let's let's sit down, honey, like let's watch this. It's it's a pain in the but so she just didn't even care. So it's like I need to talk about this with somebody. Oh, I know, I'll start a podcast. That's just like within two weeks I had recorded the episode. But what I'm finding in the podcast community is that like this idea of just like finding random people in random strangers to talk to and connect with is a growing thing. I sat down I very similar to your Nick Malie Story. I sat down with some guy that I met on on Instagram, sort of like how many we met through facebook. He does a podcast called strangers worth meeting where he and his wife own a marketing company and they travel around. They live like sort of a nomad life. They have an RV and they travel around to the different cities that their clients are based out of and he'll find a random person in a city that he's going to be in that he thinks is interesting and then sits down and has a conversation with them and...

...they've done like he's done a number of different episodes with like photographers and Musicians and gym owners and Jiu Jitsu practitioners, but it's just so fascinating, like it's just such a broad spectrum of different types of people and I think it's such a cool concept and it's a great way to like connect with people around the world they wouldn't necessarily otherwise meet. That's actually really cool. It's really cool option, because I had said that to my wife. I said, Hey, when we retire and the kids are older, let's get an RV. We like we like traveling. Anything that letter via. Just travel around and I'll just podcast from city to city and she's like, Oh, that sounds fun, but I totally do it. I totally write live a nomad lifestyle and and rolls through and be like I'm going to meet this person, meet this person, and just set it up along the way. That says, I'm going to check that podcast out. That sounds really cool. So what have what have been some of your like favorite moments of your podcast? Son Like or what, if you what have you learned from starting it? So, obviously, as a huge star wars fan, my ultimate thing for me was to actually talk to someone involved in the movies and it wasn't just somebody who is like I made sandwiches for the crew, like it was literally someone who had a hand in, like literal hand in building like my ultimate favorite character of Yoda. So growing up, Yoda was my absolute favorite character. Yeah, it's the I still I own an original Yoda toy that I had since a kid and I found it buried in a toy box member when I was like twelve and I forgot even had it and I went to my mom and I said, Hey, do you know where I got this? And she's like, Oh, yeah, you were for and you have it for some reason on the toy shelf. I had to have that toy. I had never seen a star wars. I was for so it's a little action for like like you're a choke on this, but I absolutely had to have it and almost pitched a fit in like out of wherever we bought it, right, and then just over time it just fell into my toy box full of other toys. I went through a Ninja turtles phase and I owned a ton of Ninja turl stuff and it just kind of fell by the wayside. But I had re Sen star wars on TV right around that time, maybe year two earlier, and when I saw its like what the original trilogy was like, played on TV over like a weekend and then I met they re released the special editions in theaters and I remember seeing a hire that. Yeah, so like little in the mid s before the prequels. Yeah, they had rereleased like like early mid S and I got to see empire. I didn't see the other ones, but I got to see empire and seeing empire on the big screen was amazing. I wish I could have been there when it initially happened. I wish I could have been in seventy seven when the original yeah, I've seen every other star wars in the theater since some you know, goods for better worse, right, better or worse, there's always something I like out of all of them. That's a completely different podcast. That week definitely have something. But anyways, so that was my ultimate highlight. Probably close to that is talking to Nicholas Mark on my first episode and the reason why I think. I don't know if anyone was my first guests. They'RE gonna they're always my first, and the fact that it was someone I didn't know, like a friend or family member or somebody that I go hey, man, just do this for me and they're like okay, I reached out, threw it out into the to the ether, right there on the on facebook, Instagram, I emailed, I hit him on everywhere I could pass but short of folding a phone number, and it took a a little while to get back to me, but when he did, I was like home, my God, I got my first guest. Yeah, gonna be this, I'm gonna do this. Everything I wanted was starting of all, and it was really what kicked off the podcast. Those are probably my two top memories for for the podcast right now. Gland sky and friends, the PODCAST. Where can people find you on there? So, is that the land so ga Lal Ants Ki is how you spelled Glansky. So again, my last name glant as Ki, added to it. I am...

...not. I guess Eski is Polish. holish shit would be Polish. I'm not Polish. It's my handle on pretty much everything. For My instagram is Glansky and friends. Are Glansky friends podcast. Okay, if you go with facebook, if you have facebook, the easy spot is yet just look up Glan sky and friends. You will find the podcast there. Through that you can get pretty much all of my links and stuff. That land sky and Friendscom also links two things as well as all my episodes. You can find me a spotify apple if you wherever you get a podcast, just check. I'm on a bunch of them. When do those new episodes come out? So far it's been every Saturday morning. If you're really really keen to get it, I'll be honest with if you hit midnight on the website it's up. Awesome. So yeah, if you guys were check me out. Just Glansky and friends. Look Up Gland Glansky and you'll find various things of me. Awesome. So we were doing episode prep, we were trying to figure out what we could talk about streaming wise, and you pitched the idea of Wand Division. Said you're a big comic book Nerd, and I wouldn't necessarily call myself a comic book nerd because I haven't read a lot of comics, but I am a huge fan of the mcu and I love what they've done with bringing these characters that, you know, weren't necessarily that popular from the pages to the big screen. And now everybody loves them and is obsessed with them. So, you know, let's let's just jump right in. What did you think of this week's episode? And I don't care if we do spoilers, because if you haven't seen it by now, it's just about passing. That was because I'm probably going to say some stuff. Well, let's kind of spoilers be honest. I think this episode was my absolute favorite of the series so far. I agree, and the only reason why was because they answered a ton of questions like halfway through, which was nice. You know, they didn't tease everything, and the final episode you find out whatever you know right this is what's happening. So I have so that's nice thing about mcu is they grab from all elements of the comics and pass history and kind of create this own universe, you know. So certain characters are elements of other characters and things like that. Again, we'd that's all you can do. A whole other episode of how than the Spider Man Movies merged Peter, Parker and Mile Morelys's worlds together and created what it is. But with this episode, what I really loved about it was you get to have I love the the actor that plays agent Wu from Randall Lop The park. Yeah, so he's I first really noticed Randall Park. Obviously I noticed with so much other stuff now that I know who he is. But yeah, back and watch other stuff. But in fresh off the boat he is absolutely amazing in that series, which I'm behind on, but the first three or four seasons like their own, whatever season are on. But that's a great show and it's really funny and Randall Park is one of those elements where you're like this guy's awesome. Yeah, so he shows up in an the wasp in a small role but notable, funny, you know, and then him now still playing FBI agent who is in the APP is in the season. So helps tie everything together. Yeah, Dart Darcy comes back from the thor series. She was Darcy, you know. So she had a couple of fun joke and of course I think I liked your better in this episode than I have in the past movies. But I'm also not a I'm not a huge...

...cat denning fan as an actress, but I also the stuff she's been in on, like two broke girls, is I wasn't a fan of. Right, that's an actress. I don't mind her but you know, and the mcu stuff. She's been pretty good and I like that they brought her back and they actually really showed how smart she was and gave her a little bit more. I'm sure they, you know, fans and everyone would like well, I really wish we had a on the Portman. Is Kate Foster doing this or not? Kate Foster, I'm be sorry. And now they put it as Jane Foster. Jane Foster, yeah, Foster, Jane Foster, O key fosters, Jane Fosters. But but cat denning's character fit in perfectly. It worked out well. She realized that they can watch the show that that wand is creating. Is What. Sorry, that we think wand is creating. I don't know yet. Right, yeah, what about you? What he what did you like about it? Well, to piggyback on your Randall Park thing, I loved the little call back to him trying to learn magic and how he just like flourished his business card out of thin air. That was one of my favorite moments of this. That made me laugh so hard at the pudding thing is this episode. I don't know if I moved my eyes off the screen time. I did. We were going to talk about it, but I alas also that like absorbed into it. But I absolutely love it. It's how he's so curious about everything and a little jokes and when they show him and cat dennings sitting there watching and then want it has the kids again. Spoiler La. She has hit. She's birth to the twins, yes, which are from the comics. Yeah, they become they become wicked and speed enjoy the young avengers. So one of them has the powers of you know, like like Scarlett witch and the other one gets his uncle Pietro's powers, a quicksilver, which I want to talk about a little bit later, but but it was. They see that and they're like, Oh wow, she's a wold twins, and then she's like, Oh, what a twist, because like they're they're they're involved at like a TV series. And then she's like or whatever is. Do you want one? Or whatever it is, and he's like, well, I thought about it, but I never thought I'd have at his oh I'll have a chip. He she was offering a chip. But yes, about having kids. Like little jokes like that, like and he's such a good actor for it. The other thing I like though. Was You get to actually go back to when they got snapped into existence? Yeah, and the mass chaos at that hospital and Monica Rambo. Yeah, wait, who was Geraldine in the last few episodes? I wish the Internet didn't spoil things prior to being able like and it's hard not to see stuff, sure, but like a month before they Disney plus released one division. Like I'm reading New Stories, legitimately put out by Disney, where it's like this actress is playing the grown up Monica Rambo from Captain Marvel, and you're like that would have been a nice little, you know, surprise, right, because if you watch that episode, or will the episode prior where she gets kicked out of Westview? Yeah, that's the reveal Monica Captain Ramble. Were you okay? You know when you're like that would have been better than I already knew who she was when I saw right in the world, and I know the Internet. Obviously so many things that get get ruined by it and there's always people's speculations about what's what. I have my own speculations and they always change per episode of the where I thought I was. I thought the drone was cool. Yeah, I liked the little like this. How it was the first sort of like outside glimpse of Westview that we see and you start to piece together, like as soon as she puts the drone down on the pavement, I'm like, oh, that's that's got to be the helicopter, you know. So like everything's starting to come together and we got answers to a lot of questions. Like you said, I loved the drone and yeah, I agree. I like you said, I we knew she was playing Monica Rambo, but so that kind of made the Geraldine part confusing to me, though, a little bit. I was just like, okay, is like Geraldine like an alter ego,...

...like, you know, I don't know, and I couldn't tell if she was playing along with with the Sitcom or if she truly forgot like who and what she was. And I think they'll probably dive into that in the next episode. Maybe. I hope so, because I think you're right, because even so, when you're in it and which gets kicked out so at that, at that time, it because they she mentions ultron and and tries like like tries to get through to Wanda right then and there, right Oh, like your brother picture hole, but he was killed by ultron. Then she briggin loses it and kicks her out of town. Yeah, you know. But then it shows the reverse where even was like she just say ultron, but even she was what is she like? Deep, deep, undercover, like cat denning's character says it. Yeah, and and yeah, you're right. At that point I got very confused. You're like, okay, so what she just playing along to get as as a good agent would. Right, Hey, I'm here, assess the situation, adapt and go. And then she's like now I'm on the inside, I can actually get to one to envision and then, you know, maybe do something to to be able to help pull her out. Or you're right. Or was it when she first got sucked into her memories and everything go away and then something brought her back to remember? Because all the characters seem to be living this life in her world. Yeah, but even there's elements where they start like questioning, like wait a minute, is what's happening, you know. And it goes back, because they show the conversation between Wanda and dotty and it see those so egg yeah, agness. Right. So the egnis character, who everyone thinks is Agatha Harkness, who was was a witch in the comics. It was kind of a mentor right to starlet witch and a bad guy, a bit of both, a little bit of both. As comics do, they can kind of go back and forth and then. But with Dotty, she she agna says something to to her at one point and says, oh, that's dotty. She's the key to everything in West view, the key to everything. Liked. If you want to be socially this, so socially that. But for me I was like, okay, that's got to be that's got to be something like like, she could be Agatha hartist but she could also be in there trying to help Wanda. Write it right. On the good side, she's actually gonna not going to be the bad person and dotty's actually whoever the villain is. Right. But a lot of people, and after the last episode, they really make it look like Wanda is doing everything and Wanda is this socalled villain and has sucked this town in. And because in that episode they start putting up People's pictures and they're like, okay, so and so is playing this person, this person has been casted as this person. This person is this person. They never show who dotty was and they never say, but in that scene dotty starts to be like hey, I mean. And then the radio shows agent wo be like Hey, want, who's doing this to you? Want to want. And then she but it looks like dotty blows up the radio, not Wanda. HMM. And that's because she breaks the glass in her hand, cuts herself. It's red blood on it, right and and and it looks like she because she was like, who are you, what do you do it? What is this? And then, but also, I guess, in the reverse is if want is trying to protect her reality. The radio was pulling the character of dotty out. I don't know. I really want this is my speculation. Is dotty to turn out to be my Fisto interesting, and so my fist or somehow myphisto is involved and she he has gotten scarlet, which is mine, so twisted around to want this reality and to trap her basically either her soul or whatever, like this is what you want, and he's manipulating it, as he does in the comics all the time. And MEPHISTS would be a great character to then bleed into doctor strange, which is, which is the kind of the follow up to this is the doctor strange in the multiverse of madness. Yeah, with with with want, with with Wanda. So,...

...yeah, I you know, it's you keep forgetting that, or at least I do. I keep forgetting that that's going to be tied into Dr Strange, even though, like, all those casting announcements have been made. It's because I know that some of this story draws on, you know, avengers disassembled the House of M and, you know, Wanda actually does in the comics sort of create this like alternate reality where if vision is alive with her and she has kids and, you know, starts to question that reality, like are they real? Is Vision Real? You know, you don't know. So it's like okay, well, are they about to do? Like, like I would like to see this show sort of set up the reveal of mutants in the SEU, but like, I don't again, I don't know if that's going to tie in with the multiverse and like that's how mutants are going to come in. But that's so yeah, so that's perfect time. Before the stay was so Evan Peters, who played quicksilver in the Fox xmen franchise. Yeah, and there's also from American horror story. Fans, Evan Peters has been cast in this series. Whether Evan Peters is playing a version of quicksilver sucked in from another demand and that's how it bleeds over, or if he just literally is taking over the role right from Aaron Johnson and then we just go okay, they've recast it and it is what it is, or somehow the world have blended whatever. But my my, my predictions on Evan Peters being quicksilver. I think they did that on purpose so that fans would start the ball rolling. So either they get complete payoff that he is a quicksilver, but by how fast everything's moving time wise, and I thought about this last episode. I've been again a lot of episodes, because in this episode I had a lot of thinking, because we're going to talk about it. Yeah, I think Evan Peters might play the grown up son of the twins. Huh, and he has a speech, so he's quicksilver, but he speeds, so he's technically that. or or he does play a version. or I'll be honest with he be an amazing Mephisto, if he is Mephisto. But but you're right. So there's elements to there's Easter eggs in the first episode when they do the did like the nine hundred and fifty style, and that's why I love every episode. is a different decade. Yeah, so the first one was the s and x one was like s. They change the opening eighty to do the commercials and all that stuff. I love the commercials and there's so many little things and like the watch is a strucker watch. Yep, yeah, Hydro Wat like there's all these like the stark industries the toaster, and I read a whole thing online about yesterday. I'm trying to do some deep dive stuff for this conversation. Was that it beats and blinks and looks like an old bomb and she was trapped in like the home staring at the stark industries logo with this bomb blinking in her face, like all these yeah, elements. I saw that too, and I'm like, man, they're really hyping up like how long this toaster is taking. But it made sense. They well, they really, I think, just wanted everyone to just like see that stark logos like on your shirt. The yeah, yeah, did that all purpose, but apparently even the wine she pours says like Maison the whatever, and it turns out it's like house of M okay, it really translates to the house of despair. I think is was what the French is, but there's an m on the bottle, so it would literally be house of M and so there's a speculation that from fans that house of them is already actually happened prior to even a lot of the mcu events. Like one of the first major things that wanted does when she gets her powers were struck with Hydra controlling, because hydro would want to not have opposition was to eliminate any superpowered people. So maybe she eliminates super powered people, but they were all the mutants, right, just like or yes, with the idea of ripping open time and space and anything else, it would definitely allow mutants to enter from another dimension or something she does unlocks the ex gene across the globe, right. Yeah, and it really seems like they are really moving towards multi the multiverse for the next...

...phase. And then that's not just because of Dr Strange, but with all the casting that they've been talking about through spider man three. They're talking about like they're bringing all the spider man's together. Yeah, but again I've also heard that they may not necessarily and I read a really cool thing that they might get toby McGuire to play uncle ben in the flashback. That would be cool that. And then they were like, or they could do both. He's Uncle Ben and then when he meets Peter from the other dimension, it turns out that Peter is actually looks just like uncle Bett. Like there's lessen. We won't know until we see it. I write. Charlie Cox was on set. Is here? Is He Matt Murdock? Is He daredevil? Is both, you know, or was he playing another character? Like it's this, it's there's I don't think the mcu has made a really bad step in a lot of ways, like for everything they're doing, in the way they tie it together, like there's a probably over, I think there's over twenty different movies and TV like everything that they've done so far up to this point, like it's huge. The last episode. The other thing was the way it they showed the member. They're like WHO's the beekeeper? WHO's this beekeeper? He's got the sword logo on his back. He's buzzing around him, like who is that? And it turns out it was just an agent. It has bad suit. Yeah, yeah, but went through the tunnel, which I thought that was one of the coolest moments. I think that was why episode two right. Yeah, the ended episode two, because that's the first time we see sort of Wanda just like rewrite reality. You know, we know that she can bend reality because we see her like move objects and stuff, but then she's just says no, and then the whole seeing like old school, you know, film rewinds to her envision sitting in the living room and I thought that was a really neat moment. I so I got to confess that I was like really dumb. And when she starts, when she starts seeing like the drone and the beekeeper and even Geraldine's necklace, like you see, they're all swords right over my head, you know. I Know Sword is is an organization, and like I'm like, okay, maybe it'll start setting it up, because they started to set it up at the end of Captain Marvel with the scrolls and nick fury, but it just right over top my head. I didn't even think anything of it and I'm like, Oh, okay, that's cool, and then we find out that Monica Rambo is an agent of sword and fun fact actually that that security guard that she talks to is one of the characters from the first episode of Season Three of Cobra Kai, who kicks Johnny Lawrence's ass in like a bar scene. I didn't even realize that. Yeah, so I thought that was a pretty cool thing because I follow him on instagram and he posted that, you know, he post his Little Sword Badge, and I'm like, Oh, I'm gonna have to check out this episode now. That's cool. But yeah, I did think that was cool. I'm also wondering how much this is going to tie into like secret invasion, because, you know, disny plus announce that they're doing that on you know, I guess, as a probably a limited series, I would imagine. The Nice thing about that is they could bring back people from the dead because you could have a scroll. You like, wait a minute, why is cap back? Like cap jump back in time and as old as hell now and write and you know, and you could bring Chris Evans back in a small role as it to be able to be Captain America. Again, I'm not on a big scale because I you know, or like Robert Downey jr or any of these guys who still want to play in the world but maybe not have to sign multi film contracts or have to be on set for the entire shoot. Yeah, it's be interesting to see where this goes. And I love twist and turns and I love fans service. That's why we're talking about Mandalorian earlier. It's like, yeah, mindalorian is the perfect hybrid of actually a really great written series, acted series and then like fan service, like just shovel as much fan service, specially comes out star wars and stuff into my face. And that's the end of the same with the mcu. So every character that interacts with them,...

I'm constantly like get their name and then I start like Google searching who they could be in the M see you, yeah, you know. Some come back and you get a lot of the Oh, he could be this person of that person. But things started getting a bit strange and awkward in the episode prior and we're herb is like trimming the Bush, but he's cut through the wall. It's don't all envisions like her, but he and he's just like Oh, yeah, I guess I did her up to something. Like they're trying to listener, they're trying to see, but him and Egnis are talking outside and they're like Oh, vision. So, in other words, are they starting to come out of it and are they talking to each other about like what's going on with us? Like what's happening? But it seems like they're. And again, this is the way it's written, its way it's shot, obviously to keep us guessing. But they television something outside. Yeah, he comes in and he's like you can tell, like he's like visually like perplexed, and he comes in and he's like honey, and then he realized, like where's Geraldine Right, and then all of a sudden, like and then it's like hey, we have babies and like yeah, you know. And then in the last episode, I think, I can't remember if it was the episode prior, but they show vision, like stone ripped out of his head, gray and wanders like starts almost having like an anxiety attacking, a panic attack. Yeah, and when you're like Oho, so you know, and in the comics it's happened that her craziness where she ben's reality so that so she is safe. It's her protective bubble, like to the house of M and completely rewriting, like no, no, we live in in a house with vision and these children. She because the original. So vision in her. I think I could by store by the Thai Land Rape, but I'm pretty sure vision of her like Ay, listen, we're going to step away from being superheroes. They go to have a life. They want children, but vision obviously as a robot, right, so can't have children. So vision creates to android children that can do what he does, skin themselves all stuff. But then, apparently, I guess, they get killed. I don't know if ULTRONC, I can't remember. In the comics, who something happens, but want to loses her friggin mind and literally doesn't just create them in her brain, she brings the resurrects them as real people, like actually brings out life. Okay, and that's when they become wicked and speed and enjoy the young avengers, which this really is all trying to trending towards that. We might have a young avengers movie down yeah, which would be cool. But so that's the other thing is. So there's so many speculations and things like because people love vision. They love Paul Betty, like right, he's Paul. That is fantastic. He's a great technically. He's been in more mcu than anyone else because he was the original voice of Jarvis. Yeah, iron man, and then they bring Jarvis into the envision and they just continue along. And so my hope is that either between her either getting stronger and stronger, that she basically resurrects vision to become vision again in the real out in the actual world, or something's going on where again visions. So I read a whole thing Paul Betty and mentioned that there was a deleted scene from infinity war or the end of end game, where it shows his body getting picked up at a Wakonda. HMM, somebody comes and grabs them. So well, but that's also a very expensive high areto inficial Lao. Yeah, Vibrainian like. So my guess would that would be as so sure he was already working on him on Wakonda, you know. You know during infinity war to try and get the stone out of his head, right, and a lot of the information and everything was probably uploaded. Maybe she's maybe they win. Will Condo. They have visions body and they're trying to work to restore it. Or did sword grab it? Was it a joint effort? Because I don't know, because for wanted to get out of this world. is going to take somebody intervening and somebody with some...

...sort of other connection to her or superpowers. So I think the end of this is either going to see the real vision show up and I want you have to come with me and leave this world because he's been now resurrected right towards it or whatever, or you're going to see doctor strange up, you're going to see Bennet, commerbatch make an appearance in this and actually uses magic to enter and pull her out, or something happens. Or maybe they start to fight because she's trying to fight him out but he can control not being kicked out. Yeah, then she ends up sending them both into the multiverse and then right something like that or like that. Yeah, because I kind of have a feeling that. However, whatever's going on, that's why I thought maybe mephisto would be good to tie into the next movie as a really good villain. Is he kind of controlling and keeping her crazy? If not like want it could be the villain in the next doctor strange. She could become a bad guy because, hell, he is originally a bad guy from the comics, like she's a Lan. So yeah, like there's so many ways this could go. Like so, I don't know, man, I just I just want more and more characters to show up and like Fan Service and little twists and turns and yeah, yeah, callbacks, like two pass stuff, you know. You know. So you get all this stuff and, like I said, I just I really look forward to the stuff they're going to do. And the Winter Soldier Falcon went all kid series. Yeah, well, winter soldier series coming out. That's going to have its own feel and its own connections. And they bring in I can remember the characters name, but even in the comics that guy took over being captain America. So they show them. I can't remember. It's like agent America or something like the age in America or whatever. Yeah, like and because the government's like no, no, you are not what we think Captain America should be, even though cat says you should be Cap Falcon, you know, and it's like, you know, so it's everybody's worn the mantle at one point, punisher or the the the Cap Mantel at one point. Right, yeah, which is crazy because punisher is so far the other end of the spectrum. How any of the other heroes are like, let's work with punisher, because he's like no, he's literally murdering people, right, right, it's probably sad. Yeah, now, yeah, I'm imntered to see how they all tie it together. Yeah, did you see? Did you hear the news of apparently they're in talks with marvel to sort of revamp and revitalize punisher with John Burnthall, and I'm okay with that. I'm right with that. I think that everybody was like, Oh, Netflix has a real problem with they do three seasons and then cancel it. Listen, you got to realize the timeline on that, I bet you. Disney was like, Hey, listen, we're not at that point yet, but we want to start getting some traction. So tell you what, you get three years. You get three years. You can do whatever you want with those characters, but they still have their hand in it, obviously. Yep, but I want to see. I don't need to see these people recast. I want to see, you know, Matt Murdock and yeah, it's Charlie Cox. I want to see that. So, yeah, the she huwlk series. That's coming at it right like. So he would be great to just sort of dump right into that. I've I've heard they're both lawyers and they got me against each other. They got work to it. Like it'd be funny if they were against each other in the court room for some reason and like absolutely at each other's throats and hate each other, but they're helping fight crime together on the streets, like you know what I mean. Like that that dynamic would be cool and it's you know, the actor that played luke cage was like, I'm never going to play Luke cage again, and you're like, don't ever say ever, like, don't ever Harrison Ford was never going to be Hans our Han Solo again. Right, dude did it twice. Yeah, you know, like he goes, I'll only do it if you kill me. They kill him. Yeah, and then they go hey, listen, you want to come back for this piece of garbage, I'm in you know, I don't say piece of garbage again. That's a long all sectary.

That's but anyways, he did it again. So, but I think under the right connections. I've heard the actress that Played Jessica Jones. I'm gapping on names. I'm I forget her name as well, but but anyways, she was great. I Like Jessica Jones. Is a series she's been apparently tied she might be in the in the show, you know, and you know, the only thing I think I'd like them to see them kind of yeah, like revamping them or kind of holding on to, you know, what they did in those series, because those were tied to they mentioned the events and they mentioned a you know, the incident in New York. Yeah, to tie them in, and so either that that's their own reality as well, they get sucked in or whatever. But I think if they're just part of New York and they're part of the mcu already and you just kind of continue with it. Yeah, I think it would be great, like to have luke cage. You know, you have all the same actors. The only one I think that they be kind of good if they went back and kind of readid was iron as iron. Yeah, already know where you're go at that one. Nothing to get hey, nothing against the actor. I think you he was fine. I like him. As Dandy, but it the series again, they're it fell flat. Why was there so much talking and not enough punching? Like I don't know all the martial arts, and they're like well, you know, he's not really a martial artist. And you're like there, he's all stumped doubles. Yeah, why any casts an actual martial artist likes like Shang Chi? They're like this dude is a hundred percent of stunt guy. He's been in all this other stuff. Yeah, and like apparently like that. I can't wait. I'm there was a never a Shang Chi Fan, but I can't wait to see where the movie goes. Like, yeah, I didn't even know it was a property, to be honest. I was like who I love martial arts, so I'll take it. And apparently they're supposed to bring in the real mandarin and they're going to do again as close to comic book as You can get. Now This Day and age, with can cancel culture and everything else and stereotypes, it's kind of hard to be that old. You know, Chinese wizard like it, all right, who made show? And they very, very stereotypical. But again, if you get an Asian actor to do it, if, if it's all based kind of that, I think you can. You gotta do it as like iron man three, Ben Kingsley is as the manner. I'm like, okay, we were whitewashed it, but whatever, Ben Kingsley's an amazing actor. Great, but then they like we're like, oh, no, just kidding, he's just some actor. And then like but, like this guy is the and you're like, okay, like, I'mn three was a bit of a mess with a lot of some of it, but they yeah, but now, did you see the it was a short. I forget when it came out, but it was like a it was about the ten rings and the Mandarin. Like right, I actually liked that because it kind of that. That's how deeper into that that's where I was going with that is it's called hail to the king. That's it, and I think it's on one of the Thor Blu rays or whatever it is. As a special feature, they were doing these like little mini like stingers, like like clips and stuff of different things that happened for the movies. And Yeah, with that one hail to the king, that's them correcting the mistake. Like that's them going Oh, by the way, the real mandarin would like to speak to you and you're like so, I really hope that pays off down the road. Yeah, that's some aspect and I'd be great to have a Ben Kingsley being thrown at the feet of the manager and at the beginning of Shane Chi and being like this is the man who who pretended to be you, you know, and in him I liked again, bean king'Sley was great in it because both characters were fought like he was really, really cool as like the Mandarin and he was really funny as I think his name, whatever, it was like Trevor, Trevor, Trevor, Trevor. It was trevor. Okay, it was like tre trevor, Trevor, lastity whatever. But yeah, trevor the actor, just the drunk a day many. So it would be really cool to see that. And if, like he gets spared or starts to like work with them, I don't know, but it'd be I just again, anything like that I can tie. They did one with agent Colson stopping to pick up like something at a gas station and he starts for robbery and it showed how Badass agent Colson was. Yeah, that was his way to on his way to get to the hammer right, makes it. I was going to get to the him burn. Yeah, and then they had another one and little things like that that just kind of added these like kind of characters. And then they didn't the cool thing about hail to the king. Like so not only did they get ben Kingsley to...

...come back to do this, they also had the guy who played Justin Hammer right. Yeah, right, he was there just the hammers it. He literally has a speak like they're in the prison together, and I'm like, man, I don't kind of want to see like I'd like to see a raft movie or there was a Green Arrow movie being written before they did the air overse and we had to bring Max. Yeah, yeah, and break. Yeah, he's in Super Max, and I think Kevin Smith had a hand in that. So so you've kind of already touched upon like what you think is going to happen and your theories for the season. What, outside of Wand Division, what are you most excited for, like streaming wise, coming from Marvel, or streaming wise? I was saying my most excited for the new thor love and thunder. Yeah, that is going to be good, though, but go streaming wise. Obviously, Falcon and winter soldier. I'd love we talking earli about secret invasion. Yeah, stuff like that. Yeah, so you can. I would love to see eventually this is just and not I don't want to see it animated. I would love to see a war world, okay, like once they bring in the mutants, I love to see them end up on the war war world is I think it's DC sort of battle world. Battle world. Okay, Battle World, battle world. You suck them all into the world and make them fight each other. You know what I mean? Like I want to see you guys want to survive. Here's a tournament of heroes and the main story is obviously they I'd love to see something like that where they pull in all these you know, heroes, maybe done all of them, but from all around the world, Galaxy Universe. Yeah, and you're like hey, you guys have to fight. That would be interesting to see. But yeah, streaming wise, I guess. Yeah, Falcon Winter soldier obviously seek an evasion stuff and anything that they're doing, the what if cartoons stuff. I'm really interested to see which, which stories they use yeah, you know, yeah, a little bit of that stuff. Obviously they're going to do like I think I heard that they're going to do twenty or twenty three, however many marvel films there are, that's how many what if stories are going to do. It's gonna that's going to be awesome. And what the cool thing is about that is they've got in the original actors to do the voices. Yeah, and you know, God rest his soul's Chadwick Boseman actually does the voice of Black Panther again. Yeah, and I was talking to somebody yesterday, one of my buddies over facebook messenger, about like Black Panther to like. Where do we go? Like, what do they do? I don't know. I mean I know recast. They make sure he the new, but sure he was. Black man are in the comics. So she has been, but I again nothing. I like her as Shari. I don't know if she can carry a movie, the actress like, I don't know. Yeah, I'd have to wait and see if cougler's involved. I am a hundred percent in Ryan. Google has done some amazing stuff like creed and Black Panther and everything. Yeah, so, yeah, so I'm interested to see where all how it all connects and where they go. I'm anything Disney is going to put out streaming. Wise I'm in for so outside of Disney that. What are some of the things that you that you like streaming like? If you could recommend one show on this podcast to the listeners, what would it be? You know what I tell everybody. Check out archer if you haven't watched archer yet, if you archer. The other thing I was going to say, but it's not streaming as venture brothers. There are so adventure ventcher brothers. That's its own thing. They took like three, four five years between seasons and there's only like seven. It's been canceled. Holding can bring bring back. But if you can watch anything streaming right now, I know archer streaming. So watch archer. Archer is the perfect spy TV series. It's the perfect comedy. It's it's cleverly written, well voice acted, well animated. It's h John Ben Benjamin is the voice of Earth are archer, who's also the voice of Bob's Burgers, and he's done it. But I just in general check archer, and I think most people probably have. But check out archer if you haven't watched archer? All right, so we're going to end with one more question and it actually comes from this this company that I've seen...

...on social media. It's called pod decks. I don't know if you've seen it or if you're familiar, but what it is is essentially it's a deck of cards and it's like these just random interview questions and they have all the yeah, there's like a bunch of different decks. You you have like your standard interview questions. They have like a would you rather? They have a what the heck, like all these interesting things. It's just different ways of spice up your interviews. So that's awesome. I gotta get yeah, definitely check it out. So this is coming out of the interview deck. I haven't looked at any of these cards. I think I looked at one, so I'm just kind of pulling off the top of the pile. So I'm going to try to get the logo in here so I can tag them. This question is what will people look back at US fifty years from now and be shocked and appalled by? So is it like us personally, you and me, doing this podcast, or are humans in general? I let's go humans, humans, I'll be on. I'll be on in fifty years. They look back and be appalled by they'll be. I think they'll be appalled by the the fact of, like some of, like the fast food choices that we made. Like, like I think everything's kind of trending. Everything's trending healthier and better. They don't get me wrong, like we're still gonna Burgers, but like, I don't nw up here in Canada Burger joints like everything we serve only grass fed beef now and you're like, okay, but you're still, you know, it is what it is. It's still not be healthiest and in the world, right, but I think they'll look back on, especially like anything that had probably had like the word trelupa crunch in it, or like, you know, look back in some of our choices and be like hold on, wait a minute. The KFC doubled down was just basically too chicken, like deep fried chicken brass with Bacon and cheese, and you guys ate that and you're like yeah, there was a two for five dollar special. That is apparently amazing. Yes, but that doesn't mean it's a good right for you.
